As a founding partner of Summit Cancer Care, Harvey C. Lebos has been working since 1974 to bring a broad range of cancer treatment options to the Savannah area. His efforts have contributed to the establishment of comprehensive oncology programs at Savannah’s two hospital systems and have enabled him to participate in numerous clinical trials, research initiatives and teaching activities.
Board certified in Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology and Hematology, Dr. Lebos has served on the attending and teaching staff of Memorial Health University Medical Center and the Savannah Tumor Clinic since 1974 and has been co-director of the Tumor Clinic since 1984. He has served as the local principal investigator for the Southeast Cancer Control Consortium, which sponsors National Cancer Institute approved trials to bring state-of-the-art cancer care to the community.
A graduate of Duke University in Durham, N.C., Dr. Lebos received his medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine. He completed his post-doctoral training at Wake Forest University-Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, N.C. and the University of Miami School of Medicine and Jackson Memorial Hospital and Clinics, with a residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in hematology. He is a member of the Southern Medical Association, the Medical Association of Georgia, the Georgia Medical Society, the Georgia Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Medical Association, the American Society of Hematology, the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the Piedmont Oncology Association.
Dr. Lebos no longer sees patients in our Summit offices, but he continues to serve Summit Cancer Care by honoring our commitment to Memorial Hospital to care for patients in their tumor clinic.
